Famed Hollywood director Quentin Tarantino is the subject of a firestorm after audio surfaced of him rationalizing director Roman Polanski raping a 13 year old girl.
Polanski was convicted in 1977 of drugging, and raping a 13 year old girl, before he could serve his sentence, he bounced to France.
“He didn’t rape a 13-year-old. It was statutory rape…he had sex with a minor. That’s not rape. To me, when you use the word rape, you’re talking about violent, throwing them down—it’s like one of the most violent crimes in the world. You can’t throw the word rape around.
It’s like throwing the word ‘racist’ around. It doesn’t apply to everything people use it for.”
Taratino is already under pressure after long time collaborator Uma Thurman accused him of not coming to her defense after she was sexually assaulted by Harvey Weinstein.
His latest remarks however could have a serious impact on his ability to make movies, there is no rational explanation for a grown man drugging and raping adolescent girls.
