Superstar quarterback Cam Newton is among the very best signal callers in the NFL.
Cam Newton is more decorated than a Christmas tree, and has led the Carolina Panthers to glory.
Some believe Newton is the best pure football player on the planet.
He won the junior college national championship his junior year, the national championship and the Heisman trophy as a senior, was selected #1 in the NFL draft, won the rookie of the year, and eventually the NFL MVP while transforming the Panthers into a championship contender.
Cam Newton is in his prime, at the height of his powers on the football field, at the apex of his earning potential as a role model to millions of children.
Cam Newton’s approach to women however will forever be under question about his behavior today.
During a press conference, in which reporters attempt to obtain quotes to publish stories, Cam Newton castigated a female reporter because she is a woman, not because she asked an unprofessional question.
“It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes”.

This was Cam Newton’s response to an academic question, he felt the need to denigrate another human being solely based on gender, not the fact that she had a story to publish.
Rodrigue: “I know you take a lot of pride in seeing your receivers play well. Devin Funchess has seemed to really embrace the physicality of his routes and getting those extra yards. Does that give you a little bit of enjoyment to see him kind of truck sticking people out there?”
Newton: “It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes. It’s funny.”
Cam Newton acts like because Charlotte Observer reporter Jourdan Rodrigue is a woman, she has no right to be at that press conference let alone ask him questions.
Cam Newton’s offensive remarks highlight a larger problem.
There is a large percentage of men in this country that believe women should not have a seat at the sports table, that they should know their place, and stay in the kitchen.
This arcahic disposition has reared it’s ugly head once again with Cam Newton.
Cam Newton is a hypocrite, he will pump his black power fist into the air after touchdowns, but 72 hours later he has no problem promoting gender discrimination.
You have to wonder if Cam Newton would be cool with a white woman telling him “it’s funny to hear a black guy talk about politics”
I spoke with him after and it was worse. I chose not to share, because I have an actual job to do today and one he will not keep me from.

Cam Newton needs to do two things.
Give a sincere public apology, which he has yet to do.
Once he accomplishes that objective, it would be nice if he practiced what he preaches.
