Mayor Harp and city activists continue to advance hurricane relief effort

New Haven – Mayor Toni N. Harp and other local advocates continue their coordinated initiative this week to advance the New Haven-based, grassroots hurricane relief effort seeking donations to help stricken residents there.

To date, donation collection efforts have generated some $85,000 to help people in Puerto Rico recover from Hurricane Maria. Three new events are planned, proceeds from each will add to that total:

October 15th at 4:00 p.m.

Bear’s BBQ

990 Chapel Street, New Haven

October 19th at 7:00 p.m.

Collins Auditorium – Notre Dame High School

Music from Latin America

Tickets: Adults – $10; Children – $5

Proceeds to benefit New Haven for Puerto Rico

October 22nd11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

New Haven Fire Department ‘Signal 4’

Vandome – 102 Hamilton Street, New Haven
