The Honorable Mayor Toni Harp and a number of city officials commemorated New Haven’s 379th birthday Monday afternoon in the atrium at city hall.
Cupcakes, hip hop, guest speakers, and the Mayor herself rang in the cities big day with plenty of pomp and circumstance.
There was also cupcakes, and Tastie Fish was all about that.
New Haven was founded by English Puritans in 1638, and even though nearly 400 years has passed since the city was established, New Haven has found a way to maintain it’s identity while growing into a thriving urban city.
Special interest groups such as Comcast and the Elm City express soccer team were on hand to support the major, and celebrate the cities history, and general heritage.
The assembled crowd of roughly 75 people were also treated to a fabulous performance a child orchestra named The Lanterns.
Happy Birthday New Haven!
