Yesterday during a dramatic confirmation hearing for incoming DHS Sec. Kirstenjen Nielsen, Senator Cory Booker lost patience with her inability to distance herself from President Trump’s sh/thole remarks about African based countries.
Nielsen the blew off the entire line of questioning with the excuse “I have already answered those questions”.
She also replied that didn’t quite remember Trump’s remarks.

What would follow captured the attention of America, and sent a clear message to Donald Trump that his commentary is going to have far reaching implications.
Cory Booker on Sec. Nielsen: “She was not telling the truth. She was an American citizen under oath before a Senate Committee and she pretended like she didn’t remember… It was so offensive to me that she lied under oath.” (via CBS) pic.twitter.com/reHUptZCDD

Booker did not seem to hold Nielsen responsible for the Presidents racist remarks, but he was beyond offended that she had zero intrest in denouncing the remarks, or being straight forward about her feelings on the subject.
